This piece was created live during the performance Medium at FLASH1 Biennale in 2017. It’s a large-scale light painting on 150 x 150 cm paper, mounted on a steel frame.
In the performance the paper served not just as a surface, but as a boundary between the light source and myself as the performer. The act of painting became a way of altering that boundary — each brushstroke making the paper more translucent, allowing more light to pass through. The result is a composition that brings together structural and organic forms, with lines and gestures suggesting a cathedral like space.
