This is originally an A3 drawing, drawn with medium and ink on paper. The medium alters the surface, making the paper more translucent where the brushstrokes have passed, allowing light to shine through and giving the drawing a subtle, glowing quality. The drawing was made using a wide spatula and quick, gestural strokes. The technique doesn’t allow room for mistakes—every mark remains visible, contributing to the overall coherence of the piece. It’s a very intuitive and direct method, there’s no time to overthink. I see it as a form of automatic drawing—it brings something up straight from the unconscious.
In the drawing a figure emerges from the darkness in a state of quiet transcendence. The face, softly illuminated from within, carries weightless calm.

With its strong mottled texture and warm base tone, Hahnemühle German Etching paper creates prints with rich colors and deep blacks, offering high contrast and a handcrafted feel. The pronounced surface texture holds more ink, adding depth and vibrancy to the image. Its weight and finish give the artwork a tactile, artisanal quality. All unframed prints include a narrow white border, ideal for mounting.
